An unrestrained dog in a car is a distraction at best. This clips into your seatbelt buckle at one end and onto your dog's harness at the other, leaving them room to sit, stand or lie down without being able to climb through to the front.

It adjusts for length, so you can give a settled dog some slack on a long drive and shorten it in traffic.

The clip is zinc alloy rather than plastic, which is worth having on the single component holding everything together. The webbing is nylon with very little stretch.

Attach it to a harness, never to a collar. A collar concentrates any force on the neck, which is the whole reason harnesses exist.

Seven colours.

Worth knowing

What owners miss

In a hard stop, a loose dog keeps moving at whatever speed the car was doing. The risk people underestimate is not the dog climbing about mid-journey — it is what an unrestrained body does to everyone in the car in the stop itself.

How this helps

Clipped to a harness at one end and the seatbelt buckle at the other, it keeps a dog in the back and limits how far forward they can travel. It supports a calmer drive too: a dog with a defined space tends to settle rather than pace.
