Cooling Mat

Dogs cannot sweat to cool down. They lose heat by panting and through the pads of their feet, and both work poorly in a still, warm room where the floor has already reached the same temperature as the air.

This mat gives them a surface that has not. The cooling layer draws heat away on contact and recharges by itself once the dog moves off — there is nothing to plug in, nothing to freeze first, and no gel to worry about. A cool silk face sits over a padded core, with a non-slip backing so it stays put on a hard floor.

It supports the routes a dog already uses to cool itself rather than trying to do something clever. Most dogs work out what it is for within a day, because they are already looking for the tiles and the shaded patch by the back door.

Three sizes, meant for small, medium and large breeds. Measure your dog lying down, stretched out on their side, and pick the mat that covers that length — a dog that has to curl up to fit will use the floor instead.
