A bowl of kibble is usually gone in under a minute, and then your dog is back at your feet looking for the next thing to do. This tumbler makes them work for the same meal: pour the food in, set it on the floor, and it only comes out as they nose and paw it along.
Two openings in the collars let kibble drop out a few pieces at a time as it rolls. Twist the collars to make the openings smaller or larger. Start them wide, so your dog is rewarded quickly and works out what the toy is for, then narrow them once they have the idea.
It stands about 11.5cm tall and 8.75cm across, and weighs 140g. That suits small and medium dogs and ordinary dry kibble or small training treats. A large dog can get the whole thing in its mouth, so it is not the right pick for big breeds. Comes in blue or red.
Use part of the daily food allowance rather than extra treats, so playtime does not add to the day's calories. It is hard plastic, not a chew toy: supervise while it is in use and put it away afterwards. Wash by hand in warm, soapy water.
Eating from a bowl takes a dog seconds and asks nothing of them. For a dog home alone or short on walks, mealtime is one of the few chances in the day to give their brain a job, and a bowl spends it in one go.
